"This Single Malt from the family owned distillery in the Kingdom of Fife has been distilled using Fife barley and matured in 100% ex-Oloroso American Oak Sherry Butts from Jerez previously used for maturing Sherry. These casks were specifically chosen by Isabella Wemyss for their gentle oak flavours and sherry rich sweetness to compliment the fruit character of the Kingsbarns spirit. The perfect balance between the spirit and the wood."

Producer Tasting Note
Nose: Treacle, sultanas, fruit loaf with cinnamon icing, a touch of dark chocolate with summer berries.
Palate: Sweet tinned pineapple up front, orange peel, cake spice.
Finish: Lots of dried apricot and a hint of roasted hazelnut on the finish.

This is the first single malt from the Isle of Raasay Distillery to find its way to Canada, release R-01. Produced from 100% Scottish concerto barley, peated to 48-52ppm and matured in a mix of First fill ex-Rye Whiskey, virgin Chinkapin oak, and first-fill Bordeaux red wine and bottled at 46.4%. The whisky is matured and bottled on the Isle of Raasay without chill filtering or added colouring.

The first release from the new Lowland Lindores Abbey Distillery was matured in ex-Bourbon, Sherry, & Wine Casks before bottling at 46%. Though just 3-4 years of age, the whisky shows a lot of promise.
This first release is a nod to the first-ever reference of whisky making, which took place at Lindores Abbey, now in ruins, in 1494. A letter to Friar John Cor was instructed by King James IV to make "auqa vitae, VIII bolls of malt." The ruins sit on lands owned by Drew and Helen McKenzie Smith. In 2017 they opened the Lindores Abbey Distillery with the intent of making it an estate distillery. Beginning in 2020, all of the barley used by the distillery was sourced from the surrounding fields.
