Each cask was hand-selected by our Master Whisky Maker for its marrying potential, depth of flavour and complex character. "

Which Orkney distillery does this originate from? Scapa or Highland Park? It is probably HP sauce, but... hmm.
Regardless, the whisky was distilled somewhere in the Orkney Isles in January 2007. It was matured in an Oloroso Hogshead and bottled at 17 years old and 57.9%. 302 bottles total.

Highland Park, the northernmost of Scotland's distilleries, dates back to 1798. Definitely an island style with typical smokiness, but with elements of a classic single malt that include a smoothness, roundness and heather-honey accent all its own. Very capable of developing to great ages, the distillery is now making available some older vintages which display considerable depth and richness. Consistently one of the best single malts in the world. Heather & honey on the nose, w/ hints of sap, peat, smoke & fresh oak. Lightly salty on the palate with layers of flavor. Amazing finish.
