This bottling of Macduff comes to us from the First Editions label owned by Hunter Laing. Originally distilled in 1998, 189 total bottles were filled in 2019 at a cask strength of 54.9% from a refill hogshead (HL17209) after aging for 20 Years.

Nose: dusty, pastires, vanilla and bright citrus fruits; baked apples in cinnamon.
Palate: creamy, buttery and fruity: more baked apples in cinnamon, candied lemons and orange peel; vanilla bean icecream with cayenne and other crisp spices; gentle nutty tones.
Finish: long, and spicy with vanilla bean and apples and citrus.
Comment: I find Macduff very hit or miss, this one is a hit... and very spicy!

"A nose of bakewll tarts, vanilla ice cream and apple crumble. THe palate is sweet and refreshing on the palate with more apples and jasmine tea. The finish is long, clean and satisfying with a peppery touch of sweet oak."
