Owned by the Mitchell family since 1997, Montalto is where seasonal, heirloom produce is grown, shared and celebrated. Montalto’s home estate of 30 acres under vine is the heartland for their wines, and the expansive kitchen gardens and orchards supply their kitchens in The Restaurant and The Piazza. Their focus is to create wines of exemplary quality and character, utilising winemaking techniques that complement the unique qualities derived from their vineyards, in a style that reflects each vineyard site.

Lemon curd, white peach, grapefruit, flint and slate notes, white florals, oatmeal with a curious touch of Life Saver’s fruit tingles. There are some gentle oak aromas by the way of brioche just to round out the package. The palate is juicy, almost quenching. Lots of white peach and a collage of citrus, moreish acidity, together with a mineral lick and a savouriness reminiscent of miso. The mid-palate is weighted, with a structural presence and textural framework.
