Producer Tasting Note
Nose: Sweet smoke and rich toffee with notes of vibrant vanilla, dried dark fruits and cracked black peppercorn spice with subtle hints of flamed orange.
Palate: Tobacco leaf, rich dark toffee and cacao nibs on a background of sweet soft peat and gentle earthy undertones with subtle herbaceous notes of sage.
Finish: Long and smooth with notes of salted caramel, liquorice, and lingering spice
The Glasgow Distillery established in 2015, when it opened, became the first proper single malt distillery opperating in the city of Glasgow in nearly 100 years. Of course, this is exception the Auchentoshan Distillery, which is on the city's outskirts, is in the town of Clydebank, and also the Strathclyde Grain Distillery, which produced the Kinclaith single malt from 1958-75. Since its opening, the distillery has been joined by the Clydeside Distillery (2017).

This is the first single malt from the Isle of Raasay Distillery to find its way to Canada, release R-01. Produced from 100% Scottish concerto barley, peated to 48-52ppm and matured in a mix of First fill ex-Rye Whiskey, virgin Chinkapin oak, and first-fill Bordeaux red wine and bottled at 46.4%. The whisky is matured and bottled on the Isle of Raasay without chill filtering or added colouring.

This Single Malt Whisky from Cotswolds Distillery was aged in ex-peated quarter casks (hmm, which distillery could those be from...). The peated casks lend nuance and, well, notes of peat to the unpeated Cotswolds Whisky.
Quarter casks, to be exact. These 125-litre casks typically offer big flavour and influence on the maturing whisky within a shorter amount of time when compared to a full-size 200 Litre Barrel or 250 Litre Hogshead. Big wood influence, yeah, but don't expect this to be a peat monster, by any means.
It's also pretty cool that this is all floor-malted local barley (Anchor and Fermentis varieties). Love the 'grain to glass' ethos!
