Old Malt Cask Tormore 26 Year

The staff were stunned when they sampled this 26 year old Tormore, so we took everything the importer had left... Distilled in 1992 it matured in a Refill Hogshead cask (HL16492), and was bottled at 47.3%.

Andrew's Tasting Note

Nose: soft, doughy and fruity with honey and gentle oak; grilled pineapple, canteloupe and apricots; candied apple and butter tarts.

Palate: round, rich and fruity with a silky oak backbone; clotted cream, French vanilla and white chocolate; more grilled pineapple, dried apricots and canteloupe; decadent spices and juicy malt; a touch of butter tarts.

Finish: silky, buttery, honeyed and very fruity; more tropical fruits.

Comment: Tormore is very hit or miss for me, I either love it, or I don't... I love this one; full credit to Curt who identified this gem of a whisky!
