Ouzo is a liqueur made in Greece. Similar to raki, arak, sambuca and pastis, the main flavouring component is anise which gives Ouzo its dominant black licorice aroma and flavour.

Pastis is an aniseed-flavored, alcoholic drink which is the classic aperitif in Provence. Amber colored in the bottle, it turns a milky white when mixed with water. It is often referred to as "the milk of Provence". Pastis means "mixture". Instead of using different grape varieties, this particular type of Pastis is created from Henri Bardouin's special blend of fifty plants and spices.
