This new release from Glencadam is composed of whiskies matured in ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks, which was married and finished in Oloroso sherry butts from Andalucia. Bottled at 46% and unchillfiltered wtih no added colouring.
Producer Tasting Note
Nose: Initial aromas of ripe soft fruits, soft nougat and oaky vanilla with a background of freshly made fudge.
Palate: Smooth and creamy with sultanas, orchard fruits and toffee apple sweetness.
Finish: Long lasting and silky smooth with honey, muscovado sugar and green tea lingering on the tongue.

"This new expression of Glencadam pays homage to the relationship between Glencadam Distillery and the famous sherry region of Spain, Jerez in Andalucia. Master Distiller Robert Fleming, carefully chose the very best sherry butts from the ancient dunnage warehouses at Glencadam to create Reserva Andalucia. Once married together with bourbon casks, it was finished in Oloroso sherry butts from Andalucia. The result is a rich and sherry-forward expression, where the famous fruitiness of the Glencadam spirit is balanced with sultana and sweet-spice notes, that come from the Oloroso cask maturation. "

Nose: Pronounced orchard fruits and vanilla pod mingled with aromas of citrus peels and toasted nuts.
Palate: Sweet and creamy with layers of sugared almond and panna cotta followed with notes of dried apple, nutmeg and cocoa powder.
Finish: Perfectly balanced with creamy rice pudding and gentle cinnamon spices lingering long on the tongue.
87pts Whisky Fun
"A new livery for the 15, it’s true that the former one was quite strange. Jim McEwan used to say this 15 was his favourite malt, after Bruichladdich of course (err, probably!) Colour: straw. Nose: it’s not that often than a 15 is a 10+5 years, if you see what I mean. Yeah, well, I mean that this one noses exactly like the 10 with five extra-years, that is to say with more vanilla, more spices (soft ones here) and a more refined fruitiness (added ripe strawberries here). The rest is similar (apples, lemon, wax, smoke.) Very nice. Mouth: exactly the same happens on the palate, all flavours playing louder this time. That means that it’s big whisky, full flavoured, interestingly citrusy and getting maybe just a tad too grassy/dry after a while. Quite some vanilla. Gets then funnily medicinal (no Laphroaig though), a tad camphory. Eucalyptus drops. Finish: long, still very zesty. Comments: more complexity in this one, a very entertaining profile. We like this one a lot, and it’s rather fairly priced. SGP:641 - 87 points."
