About Two Brewers

"Yukon Brewing was formed by Bob Baxter and Alan Hansen in 1997, the result of a canoe trip conversation taken well beyond the campfire. After years of building a successful local craft brewery, they decided to expand into spirits and in 2009 invested in a small pot still. Hence came the birth of Two Brewers Yukon Single Malt Whisky; made in small batches, with a variety of malted and roasted grains, using different fermentation techniques and a mix of barrels. The goal is that no two releases will be the same, so that as each expression emerges, it is layered and unique."

Andrew's Tasting Note

Nose: decadent, doughy and fruity; maple cream cookies, brandy soaked cherries and candy apple; juicy citrus tones and chewy malt; a touch of Rye spice... almost Sazerac-y.

Palate: round, rich fruity and smooth; a big hit of maple, maple syrup, maple cream cookies and nuts candied in maple syrup; cola cubes and A&W Root Beer; loads of fruit, more candied apple and juicy citrus; more Rye/Sazerac notes; Black Licorice Twizzlers and loads of oak spices: warming cinnamon, fennel and allspice.

Finish: drying and toasty with fading spices and traces of maple syrup.

Comment: this is decadent and spicy stuff; whisky for those with a sweet tooth, or just looking for something to drizzle over their waffles and pancakes.

Producer Tasting Note

"Burnt sugar and baking spices, rich with oak, seek release from the glass. The velvety body is coating with heavy sugars and syrup on the tongue, toasted graham and cinnamon flickering just above. The maple barrels’ influence becomes clearly evident in the bright, long lasting finish."
