Only 30 bottles have come to Alberta, exclusively to KWM, of this 21 year old Glentauchers, bottle at 47.1%. 500ml. The graphic on the label is an illusion to the time, long, long ago, that Glentauchers experimented with colums in place of pot stills... 500ml.
Proudcer Description: "How times have changed. Glentauchers like to keep things very traditional, not using computers to make their whisky. However, back in the day, the Glentauchers distillery was interested in experimenting in new ways to distill malt whiskies, which led to their foray into ‘silent malt’ (the process of making malt whisky in column stills). This trend happily didn't catch on and pot stills are used to this day by Scotch whisky distilleries to make their malt whisky. As you can see from our label, showing the exact moment Glentauchers decided to try out ‘silent malt’ production, obscene amounts of facial hair was popular back then too. Some things never change."
Producer’s Tasting Note
Nose: Salted caramel, chocolate digestive and red apples, then morello cherry jam, nuttybarley and a helping of fresh vanilla beans and oak chips.
Palate: Marmalade on brown toast with a little melted butter and dried fruit. Burnt sugar,citrus and a little garden herb emerge, with plenty of oak spice prickling away throughout.
Finish: Bread and butter pudding and a hint of struck match.

Matured in ex-Bourbon casks before bottling at 46% without added colour or chill-filtering.
Producer Tasting Note
Nose: Pronounced orchard fruits and vanilla pod mingled with aromas of citrus peels and toasted nuts.
Palate: Sweet and creamy with layers of sugared almond and panna cotta followed with notes of dried apple, nutmeg and cocoa powder.
Finish: Perfectly balanced with creamy rice pudding and gentle cinnamon spices lingering long on the tongue.
87pts Whisky Fun
"A new livery for the 15, it’s true that the former one was quite strange. Jim McEwan used to say this 15 was his favourite malt, after Bruichladdich of course (err, probably!) Colour: straw. Nose: it’s not that often than a 15 is a 10+5 years, if you see what I mean. Yeah, well, I mean that this one noses exactly like the 10 with five extra-years, that is to say with more vanilla, more spices (soft ones here) and a more refined fruitiness (added ripe strawberries here). The rest is similar (apples, lemon, wax, smoke.) Very nice. Mouth: exactly the same happens on the palate, all flavours playing louder this time. That means that it’s big whisky, full flavoured, interestingly citrusy and getting maybe just a tad too grassy/dry after a while. Quite some vanilla. Gets then funnily medicinal (no Laphroaig though), a tad camphory. Eucalyptus drops. Finish: long, still very zesty. Comments: more complexity in this one, a very entertaining profile. We like this one a lot, and it’s rather fairly priced. SGP:641 - 87 points."
