We all know the sad story of GlenDronach 15 Revival disappearing, then reappearing, only to dry up to a near a trickle again (in our market, anyway). We don't see much of it nowadays, so it's always a good idea to nab one when opportunity presents. Modern day classic.

Producer Tasting Note
Nose: An intoxicating burst of maraschino cherry, ripe bramble and dark chocolate mint, with hints of orange bitters and walnut liqueur.
Palate: Honey-glazed apricot and ripe fig with a crescendo of black cherry, angelica and muscovado. Long and enveloping finish with dark manuka honey, herbal bitters and dark chocolate.

Bottled at 46% the Hielan is composed of a mix of Ex-Bourbon & Ex-Sherry Casks. The name is a "a heartfelt tip of the hat to the extraordinary Forgue distillery, Glendronach’s spiritual home in the Highlands and one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries." We're not entirely sure what that means, but we'll take it as is. Looking forward to sampling it and providing our own tasting note.

This rich expression has been named ‘Parliament’ after the colony, or ‘parliament’, of rooks that have been nesting in the trees that overlook the GlenDronach distillery for almost 200 years."

This limited edition GlenDronach has been finished in carefully selected Port Pipes, and has been bottled at 46%.

"The GlenDronach Port Wood is inspired by the historical import of casked Port into Scotland during the 19th Century. During the 1800s, P ort was ‘de rigueur’, and many of the finest Port pipes would travel from Portugal, down its Douro River, destined for the wine cellars of Scotland’s gentry.
"Whilst many years have since passed, Portugal’s majestic Douro Valley is still renowned for its exceptional Port. We have selected some of its finest Port pipes to enrich The GlenDronach for a second maturation period Our Master Blender has expertly combined the whisky from these Port pipes, to create a fruit filled expression, with layers of ripe berries rolling into its signature long, lingering finish."
