No age statement here, but a rather high price point. Being as we know Whisky-Fassle as reputable (and absolutely willing to offer up great old drams at prices that almost always align with quality!), let's assume this has a very healthy proportion of older Irish Malt in the mix. And...uh...they do call it 'extra old' after all.
This one caused quite a stir at a recent tasting here in town. The price is high, but the quality is even higher. Definitely worth snapping up before it's too late.

700 mlTasting Note (Ruben, WhiskyNotes)
Nose: fresh, bright and very fruity. Banana, lemon, pineapple, whitecurrant. Rather great. Sweet barley. Hints of lime blossom, grasses, buttercups and light honey.
Palate: same fruitiness. Melons, pears, pineapple, sweetened grapefruit juice too. More of a vague Haribo fruitiness, lacking some of the unique passion fruits of the old (non-blended) Irish malts, if you know what I mean. Some minty notes and young grassy touches. Back to powder sugar and almonds. Hints of vanilla, and perhaps a little latte. Green spices too.
Finish: long, on biscuits, fruits and a little green oak.
