he Oddero family has been present in the territory of La Morra since at least the 18th century. Through writings, notarial acts, and personal photographs, we know that Giovanni Battista Oddero (1794 -1874)—and after him, his sons Lorenzo (1821-1903) and Luigi (1832-1893)—began to vinify grapes in the township of La Morra between the 18th and 19th centuries. The legacy of Giacomo Oddero is carried on today by his daughter Mariacristina, who entered the family business near the end of the 1990s, and grandchildren Isabella and Pietro, who represent the seventh generation of a family with over a century and a half of vinicultural tradition behind them. The new generation has brought a breath of fresh and youthful air to Oddero, while at the same time preserving the traditions of its founding fathers with love and respect.

Oderro is one of the oldest and most respected producers in Piedmont, famous for their exceptional and long-lived Barolos. They also produce Moscato d'Asti, a sweet, fizzy low-alcohol (5%) wine that is perfect with brunch or any other occasion that calls for something fizzy and delicious. It is pale yellow in colour with a fragrant and aromatic bouquet along with light notes of mandarin, grapefruit, white peach, flowers and sage. It's refreshing, sweet and aromatic on the palate. This wine pairs well with the desserts in the best Italian tradition. We recommend it for more daring pairings and more intense flavours: certain cheeses that are not overly seasoned, salami and figs, or as an aperitif. Some venture as far as grilled prawns. In the olden days, a typical Italian snack was bread, tuma cheese (made with sheep's milk) and Moscato. Who are we to argue?

Sibiliana is the new project from the Cantine Europa Group. A collaboration between Sicilian grape growers, it brings together 4500 hectares of vineyards in the areas of Trapani, Agrigento and Palermo. The cooperative includes 2,100 growers and was founded in Petrosino in 1962.
The character of Nerello Mascalese can be compared to that of Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo. Light to medium-bodied, it often has a streak of fine tannins. Compared to a Nerello Mascalese from Mt Etna, the Sibiliana Roceno Nerello Mascalese displays a more Mediterranean side of the variety. Exceptional value!
