Nose: The wonderful, heady aromatic tang, borne of long wood ageing is immediately compelling. This gives way to hints of wood, dried fruits & tobacco - very rich and generous.
Palate: An extremely appetising cognac, opulent, rounded and yet vivacious. Pepper & spices emerge initially before revealing dark chocolate and fresh herbs. Complex, it shows supreme finesse, supple opulence and very good length.

An incredible cognac at such a great price! The Montifaud VS is a single estate cognac made from a blend of 4 to 6 year old cognacs, and unlike most other brands has no added caramel. Montifaud is family-owned, by descendents of Augustin Vallet, who started it all in 1837. One for chilly nights with dear friends and family by the fire!

An incredible example of just how good Cognac can be. Owned and operated by the Vallet family since the early 19th Century, Montifaud is renowned for having a caring and careful approach to cognac with emphasis on traditional methods. The team also has a collection of bottles dating back to 1830. The vineyard covers 50 hectares and is in the heart of Fine Petite Champagne. Aged between 8-10 years in old Limousin oak casks, this Montifaud VSOP is tremendously mellow, with notes of pears, apricots and nuts on the palate. Smooth and satisfying.
