Gut Oggau is a small family-owned winery project in Burgenland that was started in 2007 by Eduard and Stephanie Tscheppe. Before that, Eduard made wine with his family, while Stephanie and her family owned and operated the Michelin-starred restaurant Taubenkobel. The couple restored an abandoned 17th-century winery, including its 200-year-old screw press, and they began making organic wines. Each wine seemed to have its own personality, so they created a "family" — each has a name, and artist Jung von Matt draws a face for each label. Josephine is easy-going, voluptuous and unconventional!
