Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: bright, citric and floral with firm new leather, fruity dark chocolate and fennel seeds; a touch of marmalade me thinks... or is that just the suggestive power of its nickname? chicken and waffles with jalapeno butter and maple syrup.
Palate: round, rich and very spicy; here come the jalapenos drizzled in maple syrup again; still citrussy, more marmalade, rough new leather and licorice pipes; dark chocolate infused with chilli oil and nutty sherry tones.
Finish: long, but light; the sherry tones down becoming more marmalade-y with some vanilla, almond and more jalapenos drizzled in maple syrup.
Comment: a curious Glenrothes, decadent and spicy; lots of orange; would love to try this with chicken & waffles.
