The 3rd release of Two Brewers Single Malt, from the Yukon Brewing and Distilling, is a peated malt bottled at 43%. The peated malt (20%) has come from Bairds Malt in the UK, with the balance (80%) being Canadian malt. The whisky was matured in First Fill Bourbon Barrels (with a chunk of new oak).
Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: fresh, candied lemon, fresh cream, ashy, marzipan and gentle peat smoke; some grassy tones and chewy malt, with a touch of honeydew melon.
Palate: very grassy, earthy and rubbery; smoldering earthy peat and coal ash with more candied lemon and prominent clove.
Finish: medium-long, light. Ash, honey and gentle smoke.
Comment: another interesting new release
Producer Tasting Note: "A crisp apple mint nose hints at peat, with touches of leather. The delicate dry entry spills into a rich peat dominated mid-palate mingled with oak, apricot and pears. The finish, gentle and long, lingers with smoky remnants, honeyed almonds and citrus zest."
