Bottled at 43.3%, this is one of the older Bourbons we see in our market, and the oldest ever bottled by the distillery. We find Bourbon doesn't mature past 10 years as well as some other spirits, something to do with the virgin oak they must use to age the spirit. Having said that Wild Turkey's stone rickhouses are said to be more forgiving.

From the Distillery: "At 17 years-old and hand-selected by Master Distiller Eddie Russell for its perfectly balanced flavor, Master’s Keep is the longest-aged whiskey released by Wild Turkey in the United States. Aged in both brick and wood rickhouses and at 86.8 proof, it starts out smooth and silky, transforms into a caramel, vanilla sweetness, and finishes with savory spiciness and oak."

91pts Whisky Advocate: "A very pricy (for Wild Turkey) 17 year old whiskey honoring master distiller Jimmy Russell. Nose is hot for the proof, with oak, dried barrel drool, warm dried corn, tobacco barn, and teaberry. Entry is not hot; rather, a thread of sweet syrup spreads out into thoroughly integrated corn and oak. Finish slides into drier oak.
