One of our favourite Canadian wineries! Black Hills became particularly famous for its Bordeaux-style red blend, Nota Bene, but winemaker Graham Pierce and his team also make stellar white wines such as this beautiful Chardonnay. "Rich and rounded, our Chardonnay has been in production since 2006. This is a fruit driven, barrel fermented wine."
The 2022 Vintage consists of 100% Chardonnay that spent 10 months sur lie and saw 6% new oak used before bottling.

"The 2022 Chardonnay opens with a poised flinty minerality that reveals restrained, chiseled fruit, led by lemon, Anjou pear, and greengage. Pristine and vibrant, characteristic of the moderate 2022 growing season, the nose is lifted by perfumed apple blossoms and toasted spices after aging in French oak puncheons for 10 months. The palate shows exceptional breadth and tension, with richly concentrated citrus fruit that is elegantly balanced by a fine line of acidity. The long, refreshing finish is sustained by a distinctive chalkiness, with the structure and depth to effortlessly cellar over the next 7+ years."
