Released to mark the 47 years of service that Barry Crockett gave to Irish Distillers, who retired in 2013 as Master Distiller. Barry is aid to have aidded in the blending of this single pot still whiskey himself.
The whisky is a mariage of light, medium and full bodied pot still whiskies up to 25 years of age. The whisky was mostly matured in American oak with some of it matured in virgin oak.

Like the man himself, this is altogether more considered and elegant, mixing whiskeys up to 25 years old for a complex and less bruising experience than the Powers. Instead, lemon and lime zest, kumquat, and blood orange entwine themselves around vanilla, nutmeg, and soft, drying tannins. No big knockout punches, but it goes the distance and wins unanimously and easily on points.

The older sibling of Green Spot. The Yellow Spot is a Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey that is at least 12 years old.
What is Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey you ask? It is whiskey made using a combination of malted and unmalted barley. Why do this you ask? Why, to dodge unfair taxation, of course! The Malt Tax came into being in Ireland for a short time starting in 1785, enforced by the (insert expletive said in your best Irish accent here) English. The Irish, being Irish, decided that they didn't need to use malted barley for the entirety of the mash used to distill whiskey and started adding portions of unmalted barley. Necessity being the mother of invention, this eventually became a legitimate style of whiskey-making that is now not just celebrated but codified into law in Ireland with the Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey classification.
