Our 2013 Exclusive Bourbon cask is in, and its a good one! Selected by Andrew & Hunter this is an exceptionally soft and smooth Bourbon. Bottled by St George Spirits in San Francisco, this is a blended bourbon. The distillery buys barrels of Bourbon from Kentucky Distillers and then blends and further ages the spirit for added complexity and subtlety. The result is a more delicate, layered and less aggressive style of Bourbon. Andrew’s Tasting Note: “Nose: very nutty, lots of almond notes, almond paste and marzipan; soft toasty oak and floral grains; becomes more honeyed with chunky vanilla; Palate: rich and fruity with a silky-smooth backbone, this is one of the softest Bourbons on the market; there is a surge of caramel corn to start before the spicier rye tones start to kick in, all the while the oak is silky smooth; like the nose there is a pronounced nuttiness; Finish: long, smooth and full of character the nutty oak and sweet corn linger beyond the fading spices; Comment: quite simply the finest of all the Bourbons we've ever had bottled for our store!
