Throughout its history, Chateau Guiraud has always maintained its INDEPENDANCE and traced its own route. The prevailing PIONNEER spirit led the property to create its own conservatory of grape varieties. In 1996, the team undertook a veritable cultural revolution by embarking on the study of BIODIVERSITY, and in 2011 Chateau Guiraud became the First Grand Cru Classé in 1855 to be awarded Organic Agriculture certification.
Ever since 2001, Château has had its own conservatory of white grapevine varieties, the only one of its kind in the world. This invaluable reserve contains 135 original strains of Semillon and of white Sauvignon Blanc. This action maintains the diversity of the vines and ensures the perenniality of the vineyard, which is a formidable asset ; it guarantees the infinite complexity of our great wines, and is also of inestimable pedagogical value.

Szamorodni's history is closely connected to Tokaj and is certainly mentioned as one of the first wine types or specialities. Written records first mention it in the 1570s connected to the name of Balázs Fabricius Szikszai. At that time, it was called főbor, or main wine, differentiating it from the so-called “közönséges”, or ordinari wine. The main difference in ingredients was that the főbor contained a significant amount of shrivelled, aszú grapes, which were processed together with the undamaged, healthy berries. The Poles, who were great admirers and traders of Tokaj wines, called it Szamorodni, or “as it comes”, and this is still the essence of the process.
Nowadays, there are two styles of Szamorodni, dry and sweet. Botrytised and healthy berries are harvested and processed together. Wines must be aged in oak for at least six months and may only be released from the beginning of the second year after harvest. Dry Szamorodni can have a maximum of 9g/l of residual sugar, while sweet Szamorodni must have at least 45g/l, although this is usually much higher in practice.

Château Moulin du Cadet is ideally situated on the Cadet hill at the entrance to Saint-Emilion. This 2.85-hectare (7.04-acre) Cru Classé exploits clayey limestone soils on the Saint-Emilion plateau with Merlot uniquely.
Château Fonroque was bought by Adèle and Jean Moueix in 1931, the first Bordeaux estate to be purchased by members of the Moueix family, who would subsequently become the most powerful château owners and merchants on Bordeaux’s right bank. Adèle and Jean’s great-grandson Alain took over the running of the estate in 2001. Between 1979 and 2001 the running of the estate had fallen to Jean-Pierre Moueix (of Pétrus fame), who had taken control (but not ownership) after Jean-Antoine Moueix, Adèle and Jean Moueix’s son, had died in 1979. In 2001 Fonroque’s owners Jean-Jacques Moueix (Christian Moueix’s cousin) and his sister Jeanne-André Curat took the estate back from Etablissements Jean-Pierre Moueix, their uncle’s eponymously named company. They asked Jean-Jacques’s son Alain to manage Fonroque, which he did from 2001. Alain Moueix hired Laurent Nougaro as winemaker, the pair having worked together at Château Mazeyres in Pomerol. In July 2017 Alain Moueix and the Curat family sold Fonroque to the Guillard family. They own an insurance group called CHG Participations which is based in Nantes. The new owners retained Alain Moueix as an advisor.
