The region enjoys a cooling effect from the Pacific that helps preserve freshness and natural acidity. Vina La Rosa's Estate Grown La Palma Cabernet Sauvignon is a crowd-pleaser of red wine both for its flavour and its price. It is hard to find a Cabernet Sauvignon that shows so well for so little cost! Medium to full-bodied in style, it's fruit-forward with light tannins and no oak used in maturation. .This domaine has expanded considerably since the time Serge Dagueneau took on his handful of hectares. Today, there are 23 hectares of vines, of which 18 hectares are dedicated to Sauvignon Blanc in the Pouilly-Fumé appellation. Many of the vines are ancient, with some up to one hundred years old. Most of these vines are planted on Kimmeridgian marl, one of the classic terroirs of the Pouilly-Fumé and Pouilly-sur-Loire appellations. He is the nephew of the late Didier Dagueneau, a legend in the wine world. The L'Odyssee is their flagship wine, a stunning example of Pouilly-Fume.
"Fresh and round first impression with notes of citrus fruit and litchi. Good length and intensity on the palate with some aromas of undergrowth. Chardonnay takes us back to our Burgundian culture. This variety does extremely well in the clayey-chalky soil of St Lay. The grapes are hand harvested and pressed immediately. Alberto Siegel and his father founded Viña Siegel in 1980. They started planting vineyards in Colchagua, eventually building a winery in Santa Cruz after years of selling bulk wine to large producers. The Colchagua Valley is located in the Central Zone of Chile. It's a 'transverse valley", which means that it is a valley formed by a river, in this case, the Tinguiririca, running east-to-west towards the ocean.
