B. Fouquet Aubuisieres Vouvray Brut

$26.99 $22.94

Serious bubbles that are consistently the "best value in its appellation" - this is not just a great value, it is also a favourite of both Kensington Wine Market staff AND the staff of our next-door neighbour's Peasant Cheese

Bernard Fouquet is now making some of the most highly regarded wines in the Vouvray region. He is now regarded in France and with the international press as one of the top Vouvray producers, yet that is not reflected in his prices, which remain extremely reasonable. He captures the mineral tones unique to Vouvray’s terroir, along with a harmonious balance of explosive fruit and the vibrant tension of the Chenin Blanc grape. This is one of our best-selling sparkling wines, year in and year out, and while it's the perfect wine to start any festive occasion it would also pair nicely with turkey.

Review and Tasting Note from Wine Advocate

David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate - "The latest rendition of Aubuisieres Non-Vintage Vouvray Brut Methode Traditionelle smells of ripe melons and narcissus, with a whiff of snuffed candle wick. Pineapple and lime join the melons on a juicy, delicate palate, with hints of salt as well as pungent citrus zest and smoke adding to the invigoration conveyed by a fine stream of bubbles. I was surprised to find the finish entirely satisfying and fruit-filled despite there being a mere 2 grams of residual sugar.

The latest installment of what is surely the consistently best value in its appellation."

Domaine des Aubuisieres is owned by Bernard Fouquet who has 30 hectares of Chenin Blanc in some of the appellation’s very best sites.

After gaining experience in Alsace and Burgundy, Bernard Fouquet started his own winery in 1982 in the Vouvray district of the Loire Valley west of Tour.  He is regarded in France and internationally as one of the top Vouvray producers. His ability to capture the mineral tones unique to Vouvray’s soil, with the marvellous balance of explosive fruit and acidity is quite remarkable. Bernard produces Vouvray in many styles from dry, demi-sec, to sweet and sparkling.  All of the Aubuisieres white wines are age-worthy - particularly the sweet versions which can take years to develop and last a decade or more.

Kensington Wine Market is privileged to be one of the exclusive retailers of Fouquet's Domaine des Aubuisières wine since 2002.
