More than 50 years the Brunel family have gone into establishing the Chateau de la Gardine in Chateauneuf du Pape wines. Near the Combe Masque, west of town, the soil is thinner and lighter than elsewhere in the appellation, but the high proportion of old, deep-rooted vines ensure no diminution in the quality of the fruit which is hand-picked at the moment of peak condition.
