Ichiro's Malt & Grain is a blend of whiskies made around the world. The blend is created by Ichiro Akuto, who owns and operates the famed Chichibu Distillery in Saitama, Japan. Beyond Chichibu Single Malt Whisky being part of the blend, the other distilleries used are not disclosed. Bottled at 46.5%.

Nose: Fruity, with notes of peach, apricot, citrus zest and banana. The malt, caramel and vanilla crème brulée notes give way to a lovely sweetness.
Palate: Delicately cereal-like, with notes of barley malt, toffee and honey. Spicy and fresh with gingerbread, black pepper, nutmeg, saffron, pipe tobacco and freshly cut hay. Gourmand with tropical fruit.
Overall: Balanced and fine, with vanilla and tropical fruit.

Chichibu whiskies are much in demand globally due to limited production and award winning quality. Ichiro Akuto is revered globally as a master craft distiller, producing some of Japan’s best whiskies today. This rare expression whisky is a marriage of single malts from Chichibu, Hanyu and Scottish distilleries that have been aged in various casks for undisclosed amount of years. These are then blended and aged in Wine Wood casks from prominent wineries from around the world and finished in special French Ovum casks for final maturation. The drastic temperature changes at Chichibu accelerates maturation and imparts deep complexities to the whisky."
