A golden Abbey Ale, strong, spicy, lightly hoppy, with evolving taste. Bottle refermented, unfiltered, not pasteurised and without any additives. The brewery never had a desire to produce copies of existing beers. As a consequence, La Chouffe and Mc Chouffe are distinctive and unique. The use of unusual ingredients such as spices, candy sugar , water from the Cedrogne spring (one of Belgium's highest) make for superb drinking experiences.

It's one of the most successful beer brands worldwide. A distinctive feature is the burnt flavour which is derived from the use of roasted barley. Hoegaarden is named after the village in which it was first brewed, a small town in the wheat-growing Brabant farmlands close to Leuven in Belgium. Its origins date back to 1445 and it is generally regarded as the original classic of its style. This well-known wheat beer pours a hazy yellow with a white head. The nose is fruity, with hints of banana, citrus, wheat, coriander, and light pepper. The flavour is light wheat with a little banana, yeast and light spice. A refreshing summer drinker.
