Spearhead Winery is located on the benchlands of South East Kelowna.Their focus is on premium quality wine which they produce from grapes grown on their estate vineyard and from selected Okanagan Valley vineyards. The hand harvested grapes are sorted at the winery and fermented in small lots. They grow Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. Approximately 80% of 15 acres of vines is comprised of Pinot Noir including four different Dijon clones, 2 California heritage clones and Pommard. This combination of plantings enables their winemaker to select from the different characteristics exhibited by these clones to create a harmonious, complex Pinot Noir from our home vineyard. We also draw from a number of other vineyards in the Okanagan including Golden Retreat in Summerland and Coyote Vineyard in West Kelowna.
750 mlThe grapes underwent a gentle press with minimal skin contact, resulting in a wine with little color extraction. Fermentation took place in stainless steel at cool temperatures, not exceeding 10°C. To retain some genuine fruit sweetness, fermentation was stopped by refrigeration. The White Pinot Noir is a unique and refreshing wine with a plush mid-palate. It offers aromas and flavors of lemon zest, tangerine, pink grapefruit, and a touch of stony minerality. The palate is balanced with delicate notes of white cherry, Asian pear, and orange blossom. Pair with cucumber salad, Camembert, grilled shrimp with lemon and herbs.
