700 mlAndrew's Tasting Note
Nose: honeyed, floral, and toasty with bright citrus fruits; honey and lemon (in hot water) with a touch of cayenne pepper; clotted cream on crusty scones, Marcona almonds, and unsalted cashews; toasted nuts, tulips, and potted geraniums; marshmallow, white chocolate, and marzipan; sliced green apple and lime zest.
Palate: sweet, honeyed, nutty, and toasty, with wood spice, bright citrus, and soft floral tones; honey & lemon and cherry lozenges; chewy barley and toasted oak spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, anise, and clove; the floral tones build with patience along with that classic pillowy Linkwood mouthfeel; roasted almonds and peanuts, cashews, and marzipan; apple butter and lime zest on cream cheese icing!
Finish: bright, fresh, fruity, and floral with toasted oak and warming spices; becomes ever more buttery on the finish.
Comment: a classic Linkwood with that characteristic pillowy mouthfeel, soft fruits, and delicate floral tones; the first fill ex-Bourbon cask has added sweetness, spice, toasted oak, and nutty tones without overpowering it.
