The 5th and final release in the Mr. George Legacy Series by Gordon & MacPhail is a 1954 vintage matured for 70 years in a First Fill Sherry Puncheon before bottling at 50.5%.

The fifth and final edition in the Legacy – a Glen Grant from 1954 – exemplifies his philosophy and spirit.

Nose: light leather aromas lead to stewed prune, spicy clove, and hints of blueberry compote, vanilla fudge and roast coffee notes develop alongside subtle cherry.
Palate: smooth with red apple, walnut, and dried orange peel flavours giving way to tobacco and caramelized banana. Dark chocolate spices combine with toasted oak.
Finish: Medium finish with a hint of smoke and lingering fruit.

This whisky seems even more poignant now with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's recent passing. Although a decade has passed, it doesn't seem so long ago when we launched the Gordon & Macphail Glen Grant 1952 Diamond Jubilee bottling with Michael Urquhart. Bottled from cask number 381, a first fill sherry butt, this 1952 Glen Grant was bottled after 70 years at 52.3%. 93pts Whisky Fun / 93.25pts Whiskybase.

Only 298 bottles have been released globally! The whisky has a 93pt score on Whiskybase and scored 92pts from Serge @WhiskyFun.

The whisky has been overseen by six distillery managers over the past seventy years and will now be available to purchase internationally."
