Famille Messager-Germain is one of Burgundy’s bold new voices. Young, dynamic, and doing things their own way. Founded in 2022 by Adèle Germain and Simon Messager, this rising star is turning heads. They may be newcomers, but their roots run deep. She’s from the Côte de Beaune. He’s from the Côte de Nuits. Both trained at the Lycée Viticole de Beaune, before heading down very different paths: Simon learned his craft working with Burgundy legend Robert Groffier, while Adèle gained global perspective in Portugal, South Africa, New Zealand, and at Burgundian institutions like Joseph Drouhin and Château de Pommard.

The Côte de Nuits Villages ‘Les Chaillots’ from the Messager-Germain family is a red wine made from 50-year-old Pinot Noir vines located on the ‘Les Chaillots’ plot in Corgoloin. This terroir is distinguished by its stony soil, which ensures excellent drainage. The grapes were harvested by hand on 15 September 2023. The winemaking process, which respects the grapes, includes pre-fermentation maceration at 8°C for 5 days and ageing for 12 months in oak barrels, 10% of which are new, without filtration. This wine offers complex aromas of black fruit and undergrowth, with a full, elegant palate underpinned by a fine tannic structure.
