This is the second release of this wine. This time, the fruit was sourced from the Hutton Vale Farm Vineyard in Eden Valley and blended with 35% Cab from Moppa. Maturation was in barrels, French oak hogsheads, with 20% of them new, for 15 months. 450 dozen made. A plum/magenta hue, the wine exhibits notes of plums, warm earth, aniseed, coffee grinds, chocolate, tobacco leaves and animal skins. Good complexity is already emerging. This is ripe, soft, approachable and generous, with a long and persistent finish. Soft, furry tannins and a seductive texture complete the picture.
