The historic Schwabb-Kiebel winery is located in Urzig in the Moselle region, in the homeland of Riesling. A classic example of a family business, this winery is famous for the excellent ageing potential of its wines. The historic family vineyards of Erdener Treppchen and Urziger Würzgarten are unique and famous for their slate soils that give the wines intriguing mineral nuances and a fruity bouquet. This family-owned winery represents the best qualities and values of a Moselle producer, a great love for nature and a deep respect for the territory, which result in a manual viticulture with low yields and long ripening of the grapes.
750 mlThe vinification in wood takes place slowly and traditionally to ensure the best quality wines. Medium lemon colour. Intense aroma of apricots, ripe apple skin, petrol, acacia, jasmine, grapefruit zest, and herbal nuances. Light body, silky texture, sweet concentrated entry seamlessly balanced by high acidity. Remarkably fresh for a 23-year-old bottle of sweet white wine! The sweetness has faded a little over time, but what remains is perfectly balanced by the still lively acidity.
