This 17 year old single cask Blended Malt is a teapooned (probably) Glenmorangie, distilled in 2006, and matured 17 years in a refill hogshead before bottling at the "slightly reduced ABV of 55%."

"Let's not pretend that this isn’t a single cask of Glenmorangie. Which is precisely why we wanted to bottle it, that and also the fact it is a lovely example of this make that’s seen only refill wood and displays a wonderfully balanced style that preserves this distillery’s more gentle highland profile while still showing lots of richness and maturity. Plus any excuse to  put a giraffe on the label.  

"This is Whisky Sponge Edition No.83, it’s a single refill hogshead of 17 year old ‘Westport’ distilled in 2006 and bottled at 17 years of age and a slightly reduced ABV of 55%. We’ve labelled this as a ‘blended malt’ however, we feel it is rather obvious which distillery this teaspoon-tinkered cask is from – the one prowled by Jill Bumsden and riddled with Giraffes. We hope you enjoy this rather gorgeous and nicely mature example of Glensporrangie, it tastes like old jokes, dry patter and mysterious kilts aged in dunnage warehouses."
