VIRTUAL TASTING SAMPLES CAN BE PICKED UP OR DELIVERED ( FOR A FEE)

**NOTE** We are now offering Both Virtual and in-store tastings. Virtual tastings will clearly state that above the name of the tasting.

Liquor tasting samples for virtual tastings are typically 15ml each unless otherwise indicated.

We offer Free City Wide Delivery within the Calgary city limits for Orders Over $ 300 ** ONLY if all samples can be delivered at the same time. If you are purchasing multiple events - logistically, we may not be able to have all samples ready to go in one delivery. As you do have the option of picking up your samples, we will deliver as much as we can in the first delivery for free, any subsequent deliveries will be $20
We can arrange shipping within Alberta for a fee. - packaging and shipping fees apply.
We do Not ship out of the Province.

Please be sure to include a valid email address in your order as we will contact participants a few days before the tasting with instructions on how to participate.

Cancellation Policy:

Registrations can be gifted or transferred - you are welcome to allow someone else to take your place if you cannot take part in the tasting.
- For virtual tastings you will need to arrange getting them the samples if you have already received them, You are also responsible to send them the link for the tasting as it will be emailed to the purchaser.
- For in person events, You would need to give us their name for the list if you are not attending.

Tastings are non refundable – For both virtual and In Person events, you will receive a ** store credit for the value if you cancel more than 48 hours in advance of the event. *** PLEASE NOTE: Larger group cancellations (3 or more) for in store tastings require the cancellation request be submitted a minimum of 4 days prior to the tasting for a store credit to be applied.
Due to the logistics of pickup and delivery of samples for virtual , cancellations will not be considered within 7 days of the tasting,** or if you have already received the tastings samples. Once delivered or picked up, we cannot take the tasting bottles back.
Store Credits can be used for anything KWM sells - you do not have to use them specifically for tastings.

Tastings typically start at 7:00 pm unless otherwise noted. Please make sure you are aware of the start time.
We encourage participants to drink responsibly.

Bordeaux Grand Cru with Geoff

The 2022 vintage from Bordeaux has turned out a number of perfect or near-perfect wines according to the mainstream wine press, but what do they know? Is 2022 Château Pichon Comtesse de Lalande ($540) really worthy of 100 points? Or 2022 Château d'Issan, 98 points and James Suckling's wine of the year? We figured it's time we open those, along with some other perfect or near perfect Bordeaux, and perhaps something with some age (2010 Château Olivier), and we'll be the judge of those. This special tasting with Geoff is limited to 15 persons.

KWM and Peasant Cheese clash once more! Join us for an interactive cheese and wine showdown. There will be 6 cheeses paired against 6 wines. Neither will know what the other is bringing to the table. Round 1: Peasant Cheese will present a cheese and Marnie will match a wine to it. Round 2: Marnie will present a wine and Peasant will match a cheese to it. The challenge will go back and forth for 6 rounds total. At the end, you can weigh in and declare your favourite match-up of the night.

We've convinced our friend Oliver Chilton to stay up late with us for our first ever Tormore vertical tasting. We won't see the first core releases from Tormore until late this year, but with the arrival of the Tormore Blueprint trilogy, and a couple of new Legacy single casks (all exclusive to KWM), we have the makings of a great tasting. To round out the lineup we will be including the SMOS Tormore KWM Cask, and a 33 year old Decadent Drams bottling.

Whisky Blending Class with Bridgeland Distillery

Have you ever wanted to make your own whisky? This is your chance! Join us for an immersive and flavour-forward Blending Seminar — a hands-on experience designed to deepen your appreciation of Canadian whisky and unlock your inner blender.
Hosted by the folks at Bridgeland Distillery with an added KWM whisky staff twist, you’ll step into the role of master blender, learning the principles behind crafting a balanced and expressive blend using Bridgeland's own whisky as the components.
With guidance from the distiller on how their signature blends are developed, you’ll experiment, refine, and take a hand in creating a custom whisky tailored perfectly to your palate. Your creation will then be bottled by the fine folks at Bridgeland and sent to KWM for pickup the following week. Additional bottles of your personal blend can be purchased as well.
KWM will also create and bottle its very own small batch blend, which will be available for purchase after the tasting. How will it stand against your own?

R&OWW ME1 - G&M Closed Distilleries Tasting with Richard Urquhart

For most whisky enthusiasts the opportunity to sample a whisky from a closed distillery is a rare treat. In this once-in-a-lifetime tasting you’ll have the opportunity to sample 8 of them aged 32 to 50 years of age, with a collective retail value of more than $80,000.00. Most of the distilleries featured in this range closed in the early 1980s, never to open again, with bottlings of their whisky increasingly rare. Some distilleries, like Port Ellen, were revived and given a second chance; though we can debate whether is truly the same whisky. Gordon & MacPhail have the most extensive stocks of closed distillery whiskies of anyone in the Scotch industry, so there is no one better than Richard Urquhart to tell the story of some of Scotland’s greatest treasures.

This 3-hour whisky festival will feature no fewer than 35 whiskies aged 25-60+ years of age, with a current average of 34.5 years. The festival range will evolve as new opportunities present themselves in the months ahead. Participants will receive a custom-cut crystal Glencairn glass and also have the opportunity to sample at least one of 6 Super Pours. To elevate the experience, we will also offer gourmet food well above and beyond our regular festival fare!

Ther are no repeats from the 2024 Rare & Old Festival!

R&OWW ME3 - G&M Mr. George Legacy Tasting with Richard Urquhart

It has taken six years of patience to pull off this tasting. Starting in 2020 we squirreled away a bottle of each successive Mr. George release, including the Mr. George Centenary Edition, in anticipation of one day putting on an epic once in a lifetime tasting. We will sample all 5 Glen Grants from the Mr. George Legacy Series, as well as the Mr. George Centenary Edition, the MacPhail’s 50 Year, (which may have a connection to the others), and a surprise 8th whisky also from Glen Grant, which will be revealed the night of the tasting. To the best of our knowledge, no one in the world has put together such a lineup before. We will pour 497 years of whisky with a retail value of more than $80,000.00, to celebrate the legacy of the Godfather of single malt, Mr. George Urquhart. Who better tell Mr. George’s story than his grandson Richard Urquhart?!
