Quick: Name the grapes used to make Champagne!
You probably can get at least two. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. You might even get a third: Pinot Meunier. Good work! Now name the other four.
Wait. What?!?
The Les 7 blend is unusual in two respects. First, it’s a solera dating to the first harvest of these young vines in 2005. Secondly, the vines in question represent a field-blend consisting of all SEVEN grapes allowed in the making Champagne. This Champagne is named Les 7 for that reason.
The grapes used are as follows: 18% Chardonnay, 18% Meunier, 17% Pinot Blanc, 15% Petit Meslier, 14% Pinot Noir, 10% Fromenteau (a.k.a. Pinot Gris), and 8% Arbanne.
