"Jean-Francois Bourdy is a 15th generation winemaker in the mountainous Jura region of eastern France. Fifteen generations – that is not a typo! Bourdy is the direct descendant of a line of winemakers that stretches back to the founding of the domaine, sometime between 1475-1500. (The records are a bit dusty.) This makes Caves Jean Bourdy one of the oldest continually operating wineries in the world," according to the importer. And here's what the winemaker himself has to say about his wine: "Our Côtes du Jura white is made in the same method used by our family for centuries. It ages for between three and four years in old oak barrels before being bottled. It goes very well with hot entrees, Savoyard fondue, fish in sauce, white meat, Comté, Morbier and Mont D’Or cheeses. Can be kept indefinitely (more than 100 years)."
