Poggio al Sole is known for its excellent Chianti Classico, so Johannes Davaz was initially reluctant to plant Bordeaux varietals on his hill in Tuscany. But he can't argue with the results: the Poggio al Sole Ponente. This IGT Rosso Toscana (Super Tuscan) is made from 1/3 each of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Look for intense aromas and overall freshness. The taste is warm with notes of ripe fruits. Round and complex with ripe tannins, it shows hints of spice and minerality. Perfect to pair with Florentine Steak. Organic and vegan friendly!
