Producer Tasting Note
Nose: A rich auburn Oloroso Sherry bomb. Maple taffy, creamy butter, sweet dark cherries, sticky figs, vanilla, and cherry candy. Classic notes of golden raisins, nuts and cloves play in the background.
Palate: Less sweet than the nose and an immediate flavour rush on your tongue. Zesty cinnamon, dried apricots, raisins, vanilla, baking spices, sauna wood, and a hint of orange marmalade.
Finish: Long and mouth forward – drying on the tongue but juicy behind your lips and around the cheeks. Crawls on the glass with serious legs and character.

The High Coast Solera is a whisky matured as the name implies, is a solera system. The upper casks are ex-BOurbon, while the final cask is made of 225L Swedish oak casks. 56% 500ml

"The Solera 02 from High Coast Distillery in Sweden. Traditionally Spanish in concept, Uniquely Nordic in its implementation and character.
A Solera is a maturation system based on fractional blending of younger spirits with older ones, developing character complexity. Each bottling holds a portion of whisky from the very first batch, like DNA. With every release, the whiskies gradually increase in age making each one unique. High Coast Distillery built a six-story Solera System in one of their warehouses. At the base are the Solera barrels, 225-litre Swedish oak barrels. Bottling happens at this level and the above 5 floors of ‘criaderas’ are bourbon barrels that hold 200 litres of whisky descending in age. The top criadera is the youngest where High Coast adds its proud distillate to mingle its way down - with barrels continuously topped up from the barrels above. Maturing through years of relentlessly cold winters, hot summers, and humid falls, this bold single malt whisky emerged."

"The original idea was that these barrels would be used for an Advanced masterclass, but instead we chose to mix some of the barrels together and this became Cinco. We are fairly certain that no other whisky has been created by combining these five different types of sherry styles. Cinco was be presented as a webbrelease at Systembolaget.se, June 1st and sold out the same day. It will also be available at selected international markets."
