This Tullibardine was matured in American oak and matured for 12 months in Sherry Butts before bottling at 43%. It is one of the three wood finshes in the core Tullibardine range.
Tullibardine located in the southern Highland town of Blackford, just north of Perth, was the first distillery built in Scotland after World War II. The distillery sits on the site of a series of breweries which date back more than 500 years. In 1488 King James IV, then aged 14, paid a visit to a brewery in Blackford to purchase beer for his coronation.

Evan’s Tasting Note
Nose: Tight-grained and toasted oak and wood spices up front leading to toffee and fruit notes. Applesauce, butterscotch, baker's chocolate, peanut shells, light roast coffee, and baked potato skins.
Palate: Smooth and delicate entry at 43%, but still a bit of spice evident and the palate gets richer with time. Sweet potato fries, more butterscotch, some cinnamon heart candies, boozy tiramisu, and warm apple cider.
Finish: Juicy and sweet with a dash of warming spice. Those cinnamon heart candies stick around and mingle with the butterscotch.
Comment: Would love to see this at a higher ABV, but at the same time I would have no problem reaching for another dram of it as it is, At any rate, it is balanced and shows light wine and sherry notes that don't drown out the Tullibardine DNA.

Tullibardine has three wood finishes, each of them starts with the Sovereign as a base and then uses a wine cask for finishing. For about 12 months, Tullibardine Sovereign has been finished off in Chateau Suduiraut Sauternes Casks, which are 225 litres in size. The resulting whisky is bottled at 43%.

Could this juice be from Cooley? The signs look good... and boy do we love the juice from Cooley! A 14 year Irish Single Malt bottled at 47.6%.
Producer Description: "Our fourth batch from this undisclosed Irish distillery is a 14 Year Old, a release of just 2,116 bottles at 47.6% abv. If you know your Irish Whiskey history, then you should be able to close down on the distilleries this could come from. It’s a single malt, so that rules out Ireland’s largest distillery, Midleton as they don’t make a single malt."
About the Label
"The inspiration for this label comes straight out of a British made sitcom called ‘Father Ted’ It originally aired on Channel 4 from April 1995 and ran for just three series up until May 1998 Set on the fictional Craggy Island, a remote location off Ireland's west coast, the show is about three priests exiled on the island for various past incidents. Our label comes from an episode called ‘A Song for Europe’ that featured ‘My lovely Horse’"

This is the 6th Batch of Aberlour was bottled released by That Boutique-y Whisky Company in 2018. It was bottled at 9 years old and at 49.7%. 3080 of the company's standard 500ml bottles were made in total. Though you cannot tell by the colour of the whisky alone, this bottling of Aberlour sure looks like it could be a lot less sherried than the official releases we see from the distillery.... Interesting.
