This is a peated cask-strength Indian single malt whisky from the state of Goa. Matured in Ex-Bourbon barrels before bottling at 55.5%.

Evan’s Tasting Note
Nose: Smokey with lime and salt notes, along with a crispy bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich in a brioche bun. Also slices of pineapple with a dash of cayenne pepper and paprika.
Palate: Spicy and peat-driven arrival that warms you up before making way for the malted barley. Tangerines, mangos, more pineapple, sweet lemonade, ground pepper, pork rinds, and dried seaweed snacks.
Finish: Bacon-wrapped mangos, so vivid I want to make some.
Comment: 55.5% you say? This is so drinkable considering the strength. The combination of sweet and spicy is very enticing.
Distiller's Tasting Note
Nose: The smoky, sweet and earthy fragrances have mellow resonances of spice.
Palate: As the crisp Muscovado and Demerara sugars create layered nuances, the smokiness of the Single Malt sets in, creating a perfect balance. A hint of spice radiates from the hickory and Dominican-style cocoa.
Finish: The delicate finish of this Single Malt has notes of Dominican cocoa laced with the tart edge of marmalade.

The Paul John line of single malt whisky hails from John Distillery in Goa, India which was established in 1992.
This bottling uses up to 20% Peated Malt sourced. The peat is sourced from Islay and Aberdeen in Scotland then brought over to Goa to be used in the malting of their own six row Indian barley. The other Malt is unpeated. The marriage of these two styles together gives us the lightly peated Paul John Edited.
