The Tedeschi family boasts an almost four-century-long history in the wine business and has always believed in the richness of the Valpolicella wine-growing region where they grow their grapes. Corasco, a blend of 75% Corvina, 20% Refosco, 5% Raboso is made in the traditional Veronese manner of drying the grapes after harvest. The grapes are placed in crates for approximately a month and lose about 8-10% of their weight. This water loss naturally enriches their sugar content and enhances the colour of the wine. The result is a full-flavoured ruby red wine showing aromas of ripe red fruits (currants, black cherries) as well as vanilla and tobacco from the use of Slavonian oak. It shows great structure, lively acidity and well-balanced tannins. Enjoy with full-flavoured fare: hearty stews, roasted red meats, and strong cheeses.

Ripasso wine is made using an ancient winemaking technique called "ripasso." (Some call it the poor man's Amarone!) The young Valpolicella wine is fermented with the unpressed but drained skins and lees left over from making Amarone. This adds flavor and intensity though Ripasso normally has a lighter taste than Amarone wines, which makes it easier to combine with food, and is often less expensive.
