The original Smirnoff Vodka distillery -- a favourite of the Tsars -- was started by one Pyotr Smirnov in Moscow in the 1860s. These days, the company is one of the world's biggest vodka producers. In 2005, the New York Times held a blind tasting of 21 international vodkas, and Smirnoff placed first as the "hands down favourite." Try it for yourself and see what the fuss is all about!
