25 year old Strathisla matured in 1st & 2nd Fill Sherry casks. Nose: Sherry wood, hints of treacle and liquorice, some earthy charred oak notes. Palate: Rich sherry wood character. Mulled fruits and Christmas pudding. Hints of rum and raisin toffees.

Gordon & MacPhail Strathisla 30 Year

30 year old Strathisla matured in 1st & 2nd Fill Sherry casks, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail. Nose: Sherry wood with ripe fruit - apples, pears. Hints of toasted malt with some leather and hessian. Palate: A touch of heather honey. Smoky with rich sherry elements. Earthy and spicy with moss and other green leaf notes.

Kay Brothers Block 6 Shiraz 2008 '08

The 2008 Block 6 Shiraz has a very deep garnet-purple color and intense notes of tar and anise over warm blueberry and bramble preserve aromas plus hints of cedar, earth, coffee beans and smoked meat. Very crisp, full and rich with good structure, medium-firm fine-grained tannins and a long finish. Approachable now but is better broached in a year or two and should cellar to 2020+. 93+ Robert Parker
