The Guigal estate was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal. It is located in the charming village of Ampuis, the birth-place of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. In this 2,400 year-old vineyard, one can still find low stone walls dating back to Roman times. This is a tannic yet elegant wine that begs for time in the cellar. It is one of the great wines of the world,a blend of Syrah 96% and Viognier 4%.
