Nestled in the hillside at the far east of the valley, Mt Rosa has a long history as a high country farm. The tough, fine woolled Merino sheep being ideal stock to run in this rugged and often harsh environment, their lower grazing pastures have now given way to vines which thrive in the long bright days and the cool clear nights. Mt Rosa Estate is one of the largest in the Central Otago region.
