Tenuta del Portale Le Vigne a Capanno 2004

Italy > South > Red Wine > Aglianico

Located on the instep of Italy’s ‘boot’, the region of Basilicata is sandwiched between Puglia and Campania. It's a little gem producing a noble black grape, Aglianico, whose roots can be traced back to the Greeks. It loves the volcanic soil of the region. A complex red with aromas and flavors of wild herb, smoke and dark berries. Cellar or decant before serving. Pair with lamb shank sprinkled with oregano.
