Coume Del Mas Quadratur 2006

France > Languedoc-Roussillon > Red Wine > Grenache

The tiny hamlet of Cousprou is nestled in the hills between the towns of Collioure and Banyuls. This is harsh, rugged Roussillon country where the weather ranges from searingly hot sunshine to bitterly cold and violent winds. The fruit for this wine came from the prime Coume del Mas site, and is 50% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre and 20% Carignan. Hugely smoky and viscous with sweet, very dark fruit and an ostentatious structure.
